About The Event

Beginning Thursday, October 1st, we will start our new Pastor’s Study and Worship series called “Simpler Living Compassionate Life: a Christian Perspective.”  The study and series are based on a book of the same name.  The  book consists of a series of essays and articles by various authors on topics such as money, time management, contentment, how much is enough, and simplicity through a Christian lens.  In this six week series we will be exploring what it means to live an abundant life, to practice simplicity, and to examine how we spend our money, our time, and our spiritual lives.  At the end of the series, we will be inviting you to fill out your annual pledge card as a way to commit to giving of ourselves in the way God wants. The study and series focus scripture is Ecclesiastes 3:12-15:

“I know that there’s nothing better for them but to enjoy themselves and do what’s good while they live. Moreover, this is the gift of God: that all people should eat, drink, and enjoy the results of their hard work. I know that whatever God does will last forever; it’s impossible to add to it or take away from it. God has done this so that people are reverent before him. Whatever happens has already happened, and whatever will happen has already happened before. And God looks after what is driven away.” (CEB)

Purchase of this book will not be required for this study because we will not be reading the entire thing.  I will be sending portions of the book to participants on Monday each week to be read by Thursday for the study.  The study will be taking place on Zoom.
