Kindergarten through 5th Grade - Rotation Sunday School

In a rotational setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for four weeks. Each week, the children rotate to a different station. The story remains the same, but children encounter it in different ways in each station. Repetition is an important part of the rotation approach. The more different ways children explore a story or concept, the more it is reinforced in their memories. The variety of experiences keeps interest high throughout the unit. Teachers teach the same lesson, with age-level adjustments, for the length of the rotation. Rotational learning is exciting for students and teachers alike, as teachers teach to their strengths and students experience Bible stories in ways they learn best.

The stations are:
•    Bible Skills/Games
•    Cookery
•    Story/Drama
•    Art/Science

Children are divided into groups according to age. A newsletter is sent home with the children at the beginning of each unit of study. This will tell parents what their children will be learning and the rotation schedule.

Pre School Children (ages 3 to 5)

We have a separate class for preschool. They have their own craft and story room. The children are divided into groups - prekindergarten and those children that will not be attending kindergarten in the next school year. One group will go to story room for puppet show and the other group will do crafts. Then half way through we switch. After crafts and puppet show, we have small snack and if time allows play a game. All story, crafts and games are supported by prayer.

If you have any questions about where to take your child, any Sunday School volunteer will be glad to help you find the right room.
